Any person now entering the real estate profession is required to complete 75 hours of a pre-licensing course.
If a licensed salesperson has completed the 45 hour Sales Qualifying course and is deciding to become a broker or broker associate, they are now required to complete a 30 hour Remedial course as a prerequisite to the 45 hour Brokers Qualifying course.
If you are an office manager you must be licensed as a real estate broker or broker associate. Failure to have either of these licenses will disqualify you from acting as an office manager.
Any licensee who needs continuing education credits to renew their license is now required to take a New York state approved 3 hour Fair Housing course as part of the total 22.5 hours needed for renewal.
The next 4 year cycle of Quadrennial Training for the Code of Ethics begins January 1, 2009 and ends December 31, 2012. This is a NAR requirement ALL Realtors must complete.
As our policy, the Rockland County Board of Realtors reserves the right to cancel any live class when minimum enrollment is not fulfilled.
To cancel a reserved seat in any live class, the student must notify the Rockland County Board of Realtors one week prior to the start of that class. If the student fails to cancel the reserved seat and does not attend the class, they will be charged a no-show fee which is the non-member registration price for that class.
All continuing education classes start promptly at the scheduled time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may attend, but you will not receive credit for the class. Starting in 2010, break times have been added into the class time. We apologize, but there are no exceptions to the attendance rule.
All classes are designed to develop and expand your educational background in the Real Estate industry. To insure that all materials and pertinent information is extended to all students, we reserve the right to dismiss any student who is disruptive to the class in general.
Cell phones must be turned off during class. If an emergency arises, please leave the classroom to use your cell phone.
Please note if you have a disability which will require special services at these classes.
